Today was a great bonding experience with my
fellow CRT peers. The National Civil Rights museum was very great. Every time I
walked past, or was in the area that MLK was shot at, I felt a lot of tension;
I could imagine being there and watching it happen in real life.
On Beale St. we ate and danced and just had lots of fun. I learned that if you don't put yourself in spots where you’re uncomfortable you won't be able to build yourself up mentally and physically. I also like bonding with others. I feel like I'll be a good friend with these people for a long time. My hotel experience has opened my eyes to show how fortunate I am because I remember how they said the black waiting rooms were full. If hanging out in a room with all those people last night was stressful then I couldn't imagine what it was like to be in a waiting room back then. So I'm thankful for that.
