Today we went to Money, Mississippi. We saw
where Emmett Till whistled at a white woman and was killed.
We also went to Simmons High School. The high
school was fun and the kids had everybody laughing. We taught them new words
and dances. They taught us some things about their school. We also learned that
the only other school that's close to them is 5 miles away and that it is a
private school. I would love for all the kids we met to come to Baltimore one
time. When we got on the bus Traci started singing so that everybody can
stay up (her singing is not that good).
Then we went to the Lorraine Motel. For those
who don't know the Lorraine Motel is where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
We walked around the museum to see the moments before and after he died. We
also learned how they found the man who shot him. Outside the museum I met this
lady who was boycotting the museum. When we asked her why she said, “the money
wasn't going to the right place.” $27 million dollars and nothing is helping
the poor.
After that we went to Beale street where we got
to walk around in groups and find something to eat. I like that they gave us
time to be together and time to have fun.
