Desegregation

I consider a good school a place where students are comfortable in their learning environment and are given the chance to learn as much as they can. Today I was able to see two different schools in Little Rock, Arkansas and only one school looked like it was a "good school". Through out the history of little rock central high school was a school for all white students and Dunbar high school was the place where black kids went to learn. I realized that even though laws are passed to desegregate schools, the quality of all schools would never be the same. Central high school may be desegregated now, but Dunbar high is still the less fortunate school between the two. Supporters of the civil rights movement persevered through the treatment that they faced trying to desegregate schools but now there is still segregation in the school system the big question is should we be happy that the central high is desegregated or should we still be mad that Dunbar is still less fortunate. I think that we should be proud of the desegregation of schools like Central, but we should also try harder to help out the less fortunate schools that need our help like Dunbar high school. The best possibilities should be given to all schools for the rise of the new generations so we should not stop until education is given at the highest quality to everyone.
