I didn't anticipate that I would enjoy church this morning, but I really did. I always hated going to church as a kid because it was so boring, which is why I no longer participate in any sort of church life. However, the service was very different from what I knew about mass from my Catholic upbringing. Whereas every Catholic mass is the same from week to week, the hymns have no real tune, and the homilies are usually very simple interpretations of gospel, this service was the total opposite. I felt very engaged and totally loved the music, emotional and powerful message of the sermon, and sense of community. Even though I am not very spiritual, I think if my congregation at home was more like that one I would go every week.
