After enjoying the
amazing Martin Luther King Jr. Service at Ebenezer Church, we all traveled to
King center to sat down and talked to Andrew Young. Andrew Young started
his first career of a minister. His work for civil and human rights, his many
years in public office as a U.S. Congressman in 1972(the first black congressman
from Georgia in 100 years), also a Nations Ambassador and Mayor of Atlanta. He
was also Martin Luther King assistant and friend. He was there through the
movement. We all enjoyed his humor jokes, and his inspiring message that he
shared: "When people ask where I studied to be an ambassador, I say my
neighborhood and my school. I've tried to tell my kids that you don't wait
until you're in high school or college to start dealing with problems of people
being different. The younger you start, the better"- Andrew Young.
Interesting Fact
of the day: 1974, Martin Luther King Mother "Alberta Williams King"
was shot at MLK Church.
