In Birmingham, we met
Catherine Burks-Brooks, who I found to be one of the bravest and most inspiring
people I have ever met. Her courage and determination during the Freedom
Rides and wider movement really made an impact on me. I loved hearing her
stories about Bull Connor and the struggle for rights in Birmingham. I want to
follow in her footsteps when I'm older.
