Illuminating Darkness

At the National Civil Rights Museum, I was able to look at the history of African Americans since they were brought here to the United States. Although, we have overcome a lot we still have a long way to go. Even going through all that they did, blacks kept their heads up with faith and hope. We went to the Lorraine Motel, where Dr.King was murdered and the spot the killer shot him. I really thought hard about how they hated blacks. I don't understand how someone can have so much hate towards another human being. The beatings and killings were overwhelming, and it made me think that we in the modern day cannot rest. There are people out there trying to make this world a darker place so why should we stop trying to make it a better place. We have to be the light that illuminates the darkness, but we must do it as one and a team.
