A changed point of view

I learn something new in each museum we visit. I listened to a fascinating debate between Bayard Rustin, a proponent of nonviolence, and Malcolm X, a part of the Nation of Islam, in the National Civil Rights Museum, which clarified their perspectives and reasoning. Each activist that shares his or her experience with us changes my point of view on the work that I'll do to make a difference. I remain inspired by Roscoe Jones' passionate endorsement of nonviolence, his insistence that we vote and continue the struggle. On bus rides, we discuss the smell of the bus bathroom, as well as our understanding of the complex institutional factors that maintain racial segregation and discrimination. Every minute of this trip is changing me for the better.
